Hi Jim, is there any explanation at the bottom of the news feed when you scroll down as to why it isn't automatically fetching more stories?
Do you use any external filtering software that could be affecting your browsers, for example, Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, ESET, Kaspersky or Microsoft Family Safety?

Hi Jim, how are you scrolling through open windows in Firefox on Windows? (Unlike Mac, there's no Windows menu on the menu bar in Firefox for Windows.)
If you are using the thumbnails displayed above the Firefox icon on the Windows Taskbar, it's normal to have one thumbnail for each distinct window, showing the active tab. If you were used to having one thumbnail for every tab in every window, not just the active tab in every window, that setting is on the Options page here
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
In the Tabs section, check the box for
"Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar"
Was that the missing setting?
Thank you for your reply. Your suggestion didn't solve my problem. My use of the term Windows might be incorrect. When I have Facebook open I see a column of posts from the people and sites that I am following. These may be called pages, I don't know. Prior to a couple of days ago, I used to see a continuous string of them. Right now, when I scroll down through them, I only see seven.
I hope this defines my problem a little more clearly.
Jim
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
- hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
- press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
- press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).
"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data
"Clear the Cache":
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
Hi Jim, Facebook calls that the "news feed" so let's call the different posts in the news feed "items" or "stories."
The selection of "Top Stories" for the news feed is a bit of a mystery to me. If you want to see everything in reverse chronological order, you can switch your news feed to Most Recent using the little ••• button pictured in this screenshot:
Maybe someone else knows some settings that could affect the Top Stories list. Some blocked servers maybe?

I tried all your suggestions and I'm sorry to report that none of them fixed my problem. At the present time, I only have one page showing on my Facebook window.
