A few days ago, the History button quit functioning. It does not display any recently closed tabs, no recently closed windows and NO list of sites I've visited. What's going on? Clicking "history" at the top of page and opening the side bar etc is a pain in the ar$e. Any insight would be grand!

But that is not as much of a pain as getting INTO this site!

Also let me say how much this site UTTERLY B-l-o-w-s. I rarely come here for support because, as with the last time over a year ago, I try to log in and after entering my username and password, I'm immediately sent to the sign up page. FFS. So I try, as last time, to set up a new account but when I enter my email and user name? BOTH are flagged as in use!! So I have to do a password reset, which then lets me log in and then? instead of continuing on submitting this? I have to start the process over of crawling thru suggestions till I'm allowed to pose a question. So yeah: Pretty discouraging that the Mozilla support site sux so hard

Okay, so we're talking about this menu, and yours is partially missing or completely blank or not dropping down at all:

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, userChrome.css customizations, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Which button has a problem?

  • History menu button (optional button you add using Customize, has a clock icon)
  • Library button (icon looks like some books on a shelf)
  • History menu on the top menu bar (or Alt+s)
  • A different button

Hi, The little clock icon that I dropped in the browser next to the address bar. Thanks
