Somehow a coupon club app search is in front of Foxfire (first tab). I can click to bring up a second tab and click on the coupon club app x and close it out but need to get rid of it. How do I do it?

In case the Remove button is missing:

Extensions that do not have a "Remove" button are installed globally by other software and are not under control of the Firefox extension manager. Globally installed extensions are usually found via a registry scan or are installed in a location that Firefox scans for installed extensions.

Extensions installed globally need to be removed via the settings (Options/Preferences) of the program that has added this extension or this program has to be uninstalled via "Control Panel -> Programs". In Firefox you can only disable such an extension.

You can find the install location of a specific extension in the extensions.json file in the profile folder. You can open the extensions.json file in a Firefox tab on in the Scratchpad and search for this extension. The path field lists its install location.

I did not see an answer. I tried sending a screen shot but it never was sent. I need step by step instructions.

Clicking on the browser the line below the menu bar starts with coupon club app then a + where I get into the browser, I click on the + and get into the browser then click on the x in the coupon club app. The coupon club app is not in the browser detail but in something in one of the pull down icons on the right side of the line below the menu bar.

I tried sending a screen shot. Malwarebytes says this is from www.pushtrack.co but tries to quarantine the actual browser. How do I find the bad item (id it) and get rid of it.

Hello dlthompson1944,

That 'Coupon Club App' is a browser hijacker, malware that you of course need to get rid of.

Your system details show that it is installed, but disabled - would you please go to => Options => Add-ons => Extensions and remove it (and anything else that you didn't install yourself)  ? Do the same in Windows Control Panel.

Then please take a look at this article :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware

Run all malware scans that are listed there - what one doesn't pick up, the other one will.

Also see : http://www.besttechtips.org/how-to-remove-coupon-club-app/

I hope this will help you get rid of the culprit .....
