Fullscreen on Youtube and some other pages (like issuu) doesn't display right

Hi,

i'm having trouble with my Mozilla nightly, when I i try to fullscreen a youtube video or a brochure made by issuu, it doesn't go full screen. It goes in left top corner, leaving space to the right and bottom of screen. Picture in the link (couldn't upload it directly) says it all.

Any help?

You have to provide the link for others to see if they get the same problem your having. There is no actual link in the picture to see. When asking for help on a site problem links are the first part to help others get to the right locations.

Hi Tijs991, here in support we mostly use the current release, so we may not be aware of weird bugs in Nightly. The only thing that comes to mind is, do you use multiple monitors with different resolutions?

No, i got one monitor.

@WestEnd - link to what? Youtube? I get this on every video on youtube. Or any other webpage offering full screen display option.

There are other things that need attention.

The System Details list shows that you have an outdated Flash plugin, current is 32.0.0.101 (32.0 r0).

  • Shockwave Flash 27.0 r0

You can find the installation path of a plugin on the about:plugins page.

You can download the latest NPAPI Flash plugin for Firefox on this page.

Make sure to remove checkmarks for including unwanted additional software.

The screenshot shows that the player ins Full Screen, but the video takes a small part of the available window size.

Did you try to select other dimensions/resolutions via the setting button?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

You can create a new profile as a quick check to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

i tried absolutely everything and I still have the same problem. Guess I'll have to reinstall the Nightly :/

Confirming the bug on Win 7, Nightly. To see the issue is enough to hit F11 on any site.

Reinstalling is not going to help.

I've filled a bug about it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1513066
