bookmarks disappeared
After restarting my computer, I got a new FF web page and ALL my bookmarks as well as history have been deleted.
How do I get them ALL back?
I have tried every solution on the Mozilla Help section - I cant do a Restore I have a very old version of backups - 2016
The online help system is going around and around in circles not giving any solutions. 4 hours of trying to sort this out is ridculous.
I really do not want to have to move to Chrome, I far prefer Mozilla, but I can not afford to loose more time sorting this problem out. If not resolved here, I will reluctantly have to restart all my bookmarks in Chrome.
I need all my bookmarks - some are work related.
Please Help
Chosen solution
Is this what you did?
Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).
Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Hi,
I do not have Windows Update in the All Programs - see attached screenshot
"Search for and install new graphics drivers
Using Windows Update
Some recent graphics driver versions are made available as an optional update from the Windows Update feature. If you haven't set Windows to automatically install recommended updates, follow these steps:
Click Small Vista Logo , select All programs, then select Windows Update to open the Windows Update window. Click the "Check for updates" link on the left pane and wait until it is done searching."

Does Mozilla allow Adobe Flash installation?
I use Mozilla, Chrome and Opera. Whenever the system tells me to update Flash and Shock I do.
If I recall correctly Mozilla does not allow this to be installed
Please get the information on your Video Card from the Device Manager : https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Firefox still uses flash player. However, other plugins are no longer supported.
Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work? {web link}

Please explain more. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit computer)
A question:
Adobe Flash player, does it need to be installed/updated for Mozilla, Opera and Chrome separately? Or does the update apply to all?

The update applies to those all.
You need a different one to update IE: https://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Adobe-Flash-Player-for-Windows-Internet-Explorer/964714156/1
Windows 8, 10 + only update through Windows Update for IE and Edge or will break things.
Okay. First off, my post said that you had two versions of the flash player. Not that it was out of date. Please follow the instructions I posted at;
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1230508#answer-1145383
First, use the uninstaller. Then install the current.

Unless they meant DirectX which is different :
1. I have Unistalled Adobe Flash and re-installed Adobe flash in Mozilla. According to the Adobe test Flash is up and running
I do not use IE.
2. What about the Add ins?
3. " No folder called "Old Firefox" on my desktop Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar. How many profiles are listed? How many should be there? "
From what I can see there is only 1 profile - see below/attachment
I have no idea how many there should be. When are profiles created?
"Profile: default This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. Default Profile yes Root Directory C:\Users\M.Lawson\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\kamyiy65.default Local Directory C:\Users\M.Lawson\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\kamyiy65.default "
In your first picture; Directory C:\Users\M.Lawson\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
every folder with ' default ' in its name is a profile. Look at the dates.
If you have an old JSON backup then this file might not be compatible with the current release. You can try to use this tool to see if you can export the file to HTML.
