i want firefox to start with multiple tabs I assign
I used to be able to start firefox and the same three tabs would show up. After the last update this feature seems to have dispersed. I want it back so I logged to the article in this forum BUT the instructions do not work. It starts with "Type about:support in your address bar." What address bar are they speaking of. The main address bar or ??????. All I get when do this is a webpage not found.

I'm sorry that PK has been leading you down some rabbit holes, I'm not sure what they are trying to do. Before you do anything else, remember when you were instructed to uncheck "use recommended performance settings"? Please undo that, follow those same instructions and re-check that box. It should remain checked.
You can very easily set multiple home pages. Simply follow the directions at How to set the home page. You can set any website you want to be your home page, which will open whenever you open Firefox. If you want to set multiple home pages, please just put a | (The "Pipe" character) between them, and you can set as many as you want.

HI, no information was sent along with your question. Can you please reply back with URL that you are trying to follow.
The Address Bar is where internet address are www.......... it is also called the Awesome Bar by Mozilla and it can go by several more names also.
Thank you for your reply.
I'm not sure what additional information I need to supply or a url applicable. Can you please elaborate?
Am I to understand that the regular address bar is what the instructions are referring to and that i need to address to www.about:support ?
Larry
HI Again,
When I type www.about:support in the address bar all I get is a new browser page with multiple listings so you must be referring to some other address bar in firefox. I can find none but I may be overlooking something.
Larry
Hi, no it is just Copy/Paste about:support in the address bar and Enter.
You could do it this way which would also backup your session :
Or this way :
Both options you will need to review the Extensions to find one that suits you along with the amount of permissions the Extension is requesting to access.
Hi Again,
I am copying the instruction set as it reads on the Mozilla site:
Allow Firefox to load multiple tabs in the backgound
Your version of Firefox may be using the multiprocess feature already. Follow these instructions to make sure:
Copy/paste about:support in your address bar. In Multiprocess Windows, if the number is higher than zero(0), you already have the multiprocess feature activated.
If the number is zero (0), follow these instructions to turn it on:
In the address bar, copy/paste about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I accept the risk! to continue to the about:config page. Search for browser.tabs.remote.autostart and double-click on the preference to set its value to true. Restart Firefox to enable multiprocess.
NOTES: I added the copy/paste to the instruction because when I tried typing it into the address bar it simply said unable to locate. When i finally got to the section regarding multi process windows it had the entry 1, default. BUT since the multi tab was not working and i was unable to set it up, i continued to the rest of the instructions and found that the final item was already "true". I reset it to false and then back to true and restarted firefox. NO changes - still cannot start with multi tabs.
Any thoughts??
Larry
Modified
Maybe I should reload a new version of FireFox - the version I have may be foul - any thoughts?

- Hi, please go to Options --> General --> down to the bottom where it says Performance.
- Un-check the box that says Use Recommend Performance Features
- Look where it says : Content Process Limit. Default is 4
Modified
These settings would be saved in your Profile and not the Program. Your Profile Contains :
- bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
- bookmark backups: compressed .jsonlz4 JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
- cookies.sqlite for the Cookies
- formhistory.sqlite for saved autocomplete Form Data
- logins.json (passwords) and key4.db (58+) or key3.db (57 and older) (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
- if you only have key3.db then make sure to remove an existing key4.db
- cert9.db (58+) or cert8.db (57 and older) for (intermediate) certificates stored in the Certificate Manager
- if you only have cert8.db then make sure to remove an existing cert9.db
- persdict.dat for words you added to the spelling checker dictionary
- permissions.sqlite for Permissions and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for other website specific data (Site Preferences)
- sessionstore.jsonlz4 for open tabs and pinned tabs (see also the sessionstore-backups folder)
So some of these would have to be moved to the new Profile. Unless all you need to save is your bookmarks then it is easy, delete the Profile also and start with a fresh in stall and a fresh Profile.
Is up to you after you digest this .
First part done re the Options/General/Performance.
In the second part you speak of a "Profile" which is not in the program (which I assume is Firefox) So, what Profile are you speaking of here and could you please tell me how to access it?
Thank you for your replies.
