The main search bar is now at the top of my page, not in the middle.

After a recent update a few days ago the main search bar which used to be in the middle of the page is now at the very top of the page. Can it be placed back in the middle where it's always been? Thanks so much. Regards.

The Default Homepage and the New Tab page both were changed for Firefox 61 and that change did involve the Search field being a bit higher on those internal pages. And that was after the changes in Firefox 57 and either Firefox 58 or 59; Mozilla can't leave well enough alone with those two pages, IMO.

There is a "gear" in the upper-right corner of those two pages which provides some "user control" over what appears on those pages. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-new-tab-page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-new-tab-page

Works basically the same with the Default Home Page, too. See if that helps you get more room for the Search field. If not, there are add-ons available which provide more Customize options for both New Tab and about:home (the Default Home Page).
