On Firefox a website we use can not check numbers entered as valid and return a confirmation. On other browsers it works
Windows 10 - Firefox 60.0.2 (64-bit) After entering a promotion code a website we use checks if the number is valid and returns an OK. It works on Chrome but on Firefox it does not appear to check the number and then after clicking submit the page goes into waiting mode forever. Security and cookies settings don't seem to be the problem.
Chosen solution
Problem was fixed by doing a firefox "refresh" Start firefox holding the shift key (as suggeested above by FredMcD) Then selecting refresh. Now have to put back and check extensions to see if one of them caused the problem. Thanks to all who gave suggestions and tested the page on their system.

Make sure you are not blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}
Please provide public link(s) (no password) that we can check out. No Personal Information Please !
Can you provide a 'dummy' number for testing?

Tracking is set to off except in private mode
You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for error messages.
You can check the request send to the server in the Network Monitor.

http://www.petfirst.ca/eng/index.php click breeder button on, enter any number in unique code spaces, hit enter. Valid or not valid should appear in the line. Does not in firefox. Does in chrome.

Developer Tools are above my skill set. Can you check it? This is a public website that is not working. http://www.petfirst.ca/eng/index.php Click breeder button on, enter any number in the unique code spaces, hit enter. Seems to be working here.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
- check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
No tracking displayed disabled all extensions restarted foxfire still doesn't work Maybe I will install firefox on another computer here and try it.
