Can you fill in form drop downs with the keyboard?

On other browsers, on forms with drop downs, I can go to the particular letter just by typing it on my keyboard. This doesn't seem to work in Firefox Quantum (macOS High Sierra 10.13.3).

I have provided an example form below. This is on the Halifax (UK bank) login screen.

Is this with all websites, some, a few?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode] {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
