FIREFOX UPDATE 57.0 - manual update
When I randomly access certain pages, I receive a big threatening scary, stubborn pop up page, asking to manual update firefox 57.0. Try to get rid of it but it brings small pop-ups, asking to send message to firefox. This page "does NOT GO". Till I close Firefox and restart the browser. Another message is that antiverext. biz prevented page from asking to install. Is this genuine and coming from Mozilla? I previously sent this problem, but I had my e-mail wrong as aktvos@hotmail.com which is not available nor in use.

No, these popups are not from Mozilla. They're troyans.

Thanks, very much, but i think I could have inadvertently installed it in one of the couple times it appeared, wonder how to get rid. Thanks for the reply now I know. Great!
If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins or scanning for malware then such a message is likely a scam and you should NEVER respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
- only update Firefox via "Help -> About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
- plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

Maybe check for malware if you aren't sure.
