Video Downloader (Firefox 57.0) and Frustrated

So I've updated to [Firefox 57.0 (Quantum)] and the Add-On "Video DownloadHelper" is no longer working even though it is updated and available to [Firefox 57.0 (Quantum)] users. It is also indicating "requires a newer version of Firefox (at least version 57.0a1). You are using Firefox 52.0."

(1.) Does Firefox Version 57.0a1 even exists, because the only other versions I know of above [Firefox 57.0 (Quantum)] are Firefox 58.0 Beta 3 / 4 and 5. (2.) As you can see from the added images I am using Firefox 57.0 even though it is saying I am using Firefox 52.0 ?

I have tried other available Video Downloaders and they don't seem to work, Should I just go back to Firefox 56.0.2 ? I am very frustrated and I'm looking for a solution ?

I would also like to ask / mentions for people that used the two flowing Add-On "Session Manager" & "UnloadTabs" which are now Legacy Extensions (don't work in updated version of Firefox) is there similar Add-On that work like them. Both of these Add-On are very useful . . . I often have dozens of Tabs open. Why doesn't Firefox have these as options?
    Help !!!

Chosen solution

Firefox 57.0a1 means it was a random old build of when it was on the Nightly development channel a while back. Release < Beta (b#) < Nightly (a1)

Firefox 57.0 Release is at www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Either you have Firefox 52 ESR or you toggled the privacy.resistFingerprinting preference to true in about:config so right-click this and select Reset to set it back to false.

Ok, ya so.....https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ Then contact them. Mozilla ok's Developers Extensions for use with Firefox and provides the Developer with a web page to distribute their Extension from. The Developer on their page has a Support page and Contact info. It is their page...if says finds 52 up to you to contact them.

Do what others do, find a Alternative : https://alternativeto.net/software/downloadhelper/ right side of page https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=down%20load%20helper&appver=57.0

As for a Version 57.0a1 the A is in front means not yet 0 if is A (Alpha) behind then is working towards B (Beta) https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/ https://wiki.mozilla.org/Nightly

https://www.howtogeek.com/333110/how-to-customize-firefox-quantum-and-remove-the-white-space-around-the-title-bar/

This is defeating your self : XP is on here, Vista is on here, Keep your Motherboard Drivers and Video Card Drivers updated and you will not have to be.

Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 and below is no longer safe to use for every day use do to secuity issues, but 52.5.0 ESR is. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

@ Pkshadow

"Do what others do, find a Alternative" What do you think I did, what part of my post did you not understand.

Nothing you said is useful and/or a 'solution.'

Thanks, but I'm going to wait for an actual Moderator to reply.

Like I said. Thanks, but I'm going to wait for an actual Moderator to reply.

The vast majority of the Moderators here without the Administrator tag are volunteers and not with Mozilla.

It's the ratio between if must know. Also a Moderator just came and went

Should I just go back to Firefox 56.0.2 ? I am very frustrated and I'm looking for a solution ?

This was answered and is also the correct answer.

Was just re-answered by the Moderator

Was also answered but you have rejected looking or contacting.

What is it that you would like ?

. . . please go troll elsewhere, thank you

How rude!

Think it if you must, but don't post it.

Teagan, you do not get it, pretty everybody here volunteers their time in helping people. If you insist on being rude then people will just go help in other threads.

I gave you a couple reason why you have a useragent of Firefox 52 and a fix in second reason. If you choose to ignore it then that is up to you.

@ Pkshadow & James

Yes I do get it! As I said twice before. 'Again' I would rather wait for a Administrator!!

Now stop trolling and deleting my replies. Thank you!!
