After an update, I can only see "recently bookmarked" with no visible option to change that setting; can search and find ones I need, but they're invisible.

When I click the bookmarks icon, I now have to select "bookmarks" instead of having a list of my bookmarks automatically drop down, yet when I do click "bookmarks," what I can see is a list of "recently bookmarked," and that's all. I can "search bookmarks" and find what I use regularly, but I have many more I use that I know where they are in my list but cannot recall what I named them, if that makes sense. In short, I'd like my bookmarks list back when I click on the icon.
