Is there a decent text to speech add on that firefox allows
TextAloud the text to speech add on is a life saver for many users with sight problems, yet it has been disabled again. Is there a decent alternative that is allowed in firefox? Is there any way to enable it on my computer. If not I shall reluctantly switch to Chrome which seems to have more flexibility in these matters
Chosen solution
This seems to work well if there is a Firefox 57 compatible Extension.
Can use google search terms : Firefox Extension <old extension name> Comparable

Hi, when viewing an article, a prompt for 'Reader View' should show up -- this has an option to read the article for you with a narrator.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately reader view is also blocked (not compatible) with the latest firefox. I can get TextAloud to read highlighted text but this is not as good as the TextAloud toolbar.
TextAloud have now developed a new text-to-speech ad-on, similar to the one for Chrome, so the problem is now resolved.
