Links from youtube won't open in a new private window, either by right-click, or by making a new window and pasting in the url--what's up with that?

I'm confused, because I am trying to report a bug that appeared after the latest build, and every link I can hunt down to report anything takes me back to the community page, so sincere and frustrated apologies if this is not the proper place for this.

I use the new private window function on YouTube extensively, because I am trying to control the flavor of political hogwash that floods my recommendations if I click on the wrong, unclear title about, say, a computer game.

There was a recent small update, and since then, the new private window function mostly just hangs, loading indefinitely, if I attempt to use this this way. This is actually reducing my capacity to explore and use YouTube.

Specifically, if I right-click and create a new private window, or if I use the hamburger menu and spawn a New Private Window and paste the url, copied from right-click copy link location, then paste in the resultant link, I get the same indefinite loading, or sometimes the whole page remains white, the address bar remains empty, and it looks like it's loading indefinitely .

I'm running win10 on a rather old Asus laptop I was gifted, and it is having some issues in general, so it may be running slowly, but this problem is new, and does not happen to non-private new windows or tabs. I am running ABP (ad blocker plus), but disabling it doesn't help in any way. I did a safe mode experiment, and it was still having the same problem.

Any suggestions are welcome, but mostly--how do I even provide a non-crash bug report to the devs?

You found us, this is the right place. I do wish it was hidden more though myself.....

Ok..ya people having issues with the new update in many different ways. You are not alone if that makes you feel better.

There is some good news and some bad news....

Bad 1st, old laptop. It may not be able to handle all that is thrown at it these days. I am a big ASUS fan myself and have built 5 cpus with them and 3 still have. Now If can find the support page at ASUS for your Laptop they may still have drivers posted there (or not). If so update away as will help your system. Worst case scenario try Drivermax. Or Trust in Microsoft that 10 put the right drivers in.

Good news sorta is there is not 1 fix that fits all. Unfortunately. 1 we would be asking you to update your video card drivers... guess what we are back at the bad. So we will skip that one maybe and others. Move to worst case scenario and give this a try https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings

If that does now work. 1 you can uninstall and download a full version installer from here : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ Your profile has not been deleted so it will be there and work once this is installed. If not you have the one on the desktop from the reset you did above. Will give you this one https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_working-with-profiles. and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-and-import Old fashion way, go into Tools-->Options -->Privacy&Security--> Passwords-->Saved logins then show passwords and screenshot them search for bookmarks.html and save a copy.

So if nothing works you can dig into C:\ and delete all Mozilla Firefox Folders and use Dos Regedit command / or type regedit to go to registry and delete Mozilla Firefox Keys there also and do a clean install with full installer.

Now there is another option and is used mostly for old machines and OS's that are not supported or who want to run discontinued plugins and that is to move to the Extended Release Version : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/

G'luck You can do this. Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Oh ya... Your Flash is out of date. Place update to new version 5 days ago. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Interestingly, there was a windows update the day before yesterday, and the problem abruptly stopped, because complex systems black magic.

But thanks for your kind and prompt replies, and I now have things to do if I run into this again!
