All I want to do is play YouTube vids, I could and now I can't - Chrome here I come?
I used to be able to play YT. I have uploaded new plugin and followed various instructions still can't. Should I just cut my losses and use Google Chrome?

What new plugin?
A user in another thread said that YouTube stopped offering Flash player as an option and now only offers the HTML5 player. If you use any YouTube-related or video-related extensions, please disable them to avoid possible interference with the new design. You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Please disable everything specific to YouTube or videos.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox before the change takes effect. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
If videos still do not play, can you check YouTube's compatibility page to see whether you have any "red" boxes:
If any of the first five boxes are red, which ones are they? Also, see this article: Fix video and audio problems on Firefox for Windows N editions.

THANK YOU. It has been driving me mad for days. I can now play my own and other people's YTs again.
