How do I stop the http://www.msn.com/?ocid=wispr&pc=u477 popup in Firefox.
A few days ago I updated Microsoft Windows 10 and since then when I open Firefox, I get a window that opens to http://www.msn.com/?ocid=wispr&pc=u477. How do I stop this? The Microsoft community says I should make a change in about:config page for browser.newtab.url. I don't have a browser.newtab.url. This has never happened in all the years I've used Firefox.

Hi, Firefox is able to open multiple home pages with the URLs separated by a 'pipe' (|), so please see - How to set the home page, and in 'Home Page,' make sure that in addition to your home page URL, there isn't anything else - if there is, just delete it. (the Firefox start page is about:home but you may have set a different one, or the New Tab page is about:newtab). If it's easier, you can just click on Restore to Default instead.
The browser.newtab.url option was removed a while back for security reasons. If you want to change the New Tab page, you can try New Tab Override (browser.newtab.url replacement). Once installed, open the Add-ons Manager (Ctrl+Shift+A) > Extensions, then look for New Tab Override and click on Options to set your preference.
An alternative is Custom New Tab
Note, if you only want the New Tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the add-on New Tab Homepage instead.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
