Chosen solution

The HTML export/import method is nondestructive. What it should do is add an Imported Bookmarks folder to your Bookmarks Menu (or possibly the Other Bookmarks section). From there you can manually move the bookmarks you want to their desired locations and once you're done, delete the Imported Bookmarks folder.

Export-import steps are in these articles:

And no, there's no way to do a partial export.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics.’’' Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

This is your current profile. Copy the folder As Is to a folder on a thumb drive. Then Copy the folder to the new system.

These instructions are for Firefox.

Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

FredMcD,

Thanks for your response.

I don't wish to overwrite my current bookmarks. Just add the Bookmarks Toolbar. What I had as UserA. I am UserA and B. I've been UserB for several weeks now.

Is that possible?

If there is anything I haven't said that would help you, let me know.

Thanks.  :)

Rather late to say this but there is potentially another method.

If you can open the two instances of Firefox each with its own correct profile you should be able to copy and and paste whole sets of of bookmarks, between the bookmark libraries. You can even drag between a Library page opened from a different Firefox version (And IIRC it even works between Firefox and Firefox equivalent clones).

You will need to enter the full path of each Firefox with its profile and use -no-remote Not being on Windows I can't remember what that is.
