All tabs buffering simeltaneously, over and over again?
Around a month ago I updated my firefox (and have done so once more since then) after being prompted, but I seem to have been downgraded to some sort of lesser version?
The problem is this: suppose I have 4 tabs open, and I open a 5th. In the past, if this 5th page was taking a while to load, I could hop over to another tab and be reading something else while I wait for it. But now this is not possible: if one tab is buffering, they ALL buffer simeltaneously. Suppose I just have a simple text page open - nothing complicated. Let's say I have this very page open. If I then go to open another page, that takes a little time to load, when I switch back over to this page I'm greeted with a white page and that twirly buffering thing in the middle. I can no longer view my other tabs so long as there is one other tab loading/buffering. This did not used to be the case! If I was waiting for a page to load in the past, I could hop across to my wikipedia tab and be reading something as I wait, but now all I see is a white page with a twirly loading symbol, even if this page has already full loaded. This is really slowing down my use of the browser, especially as a student as I have to hop between multiple tabs a lot. Even if there is nothing loading, and I switch between tabs, it still has to "re-load", and this never used to be the case. It's now too slow to do college work and I often have to switch to a different browser in order to work at the pace I used to just over a month ago.
Not sure why I've been downgraded...I was prompted to upgrade by firefox, but this new stalling system is borderline unusable unless I only have one tab open. Anyone else experiencing this?
I'd really like to revert back to the older version of firefox if that is possible, unless there is a better way of fixing this. Thanks for your help.
[See image below: the tab I have open had already completely loaded and I was reading it previously. On the next tab to the right I clicked a new link so the page had to load, and when I hopped back to the other tab it had to re-load all over again]

Hello,
The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
- Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
- Click the menu button
, click help
and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- Click the menu button
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
- Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Thank you.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?
