Can I restore Firefox opening page to a plain white background without all the icons? I HATE the current pink & purple page.

I want to go back to an opening page with a plain white background and as few icons as possible on the page. I have all those icons in the bar across the top of my page and never use the big ones you have added to the page. I appreciate that some folks like constant changes in the page, but for an opening page I want simplicity, which Mozilla started out with but is quickly drawing away from. Please give the user the choice if they want pink hearts and large icons on their opening page.

Chosen solution

Hi mgypsy, the background is associated with the donation message below the search box. To remove the entire donation pitch including the background, hover your mouse over the message until the close button ("x" on a circle) appears and click that. See the attached screenshot for reference.

If you prefer a completely blank start page, you can set that on the Preferences page ("When Firefox starts" option). This article should lead you there: Startup, home page, tabs, and download settings.

Does either of those fit your needs?

Whoops, I see the solution was already posted seconds before. Please see the earlier reply.
