When I use Firefox to open my Blackboard account, my macbook runs a serious temperature and I have to switch to a different browser to cool things down. Any ideas on what to do so I can use Ff?

When I use Firefox to open my Blackboard account . . . . .

Is this the only time it happens? On any page? What is on the page?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Nope, didn't help. Just opened Firefox in safe mode, and the heat started up immediately, so I closed Firefox again.

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
