sign in button doesn't work
I have a strange problem. I was able to create my login to MyRogers for the Rogers website yesterday. I was able then to login to the website and access my info. But I was timed out while attending to other things. When I went to log back in, I could type in my user name and password but when I pressed the "Sign In" button nothing happened. I have cleared the cache which is set to do so automatically anyway when I close Firefox. I have rebooted the computer. I have disabled add-ons. It seems to be only a problem with this one website. I even tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and get the same results so it's probably not Firefox per se. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice beyond everything I've already done. I've tried to find help elsewhere online but everyone just keeps saying to clear the cache which is not helping. I used my little idiot notebook which is painfully slow and I can login with that. So it narrows down to something screwy going on with my computer. I'm at my wits end and with love to hear from anyone who might have a suggestion. I am using Windows 7. Adobe Flash was updated in the last couple of weeks. Java does not seem to be on my computer but I don't know if I need that or not.
Thank you.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
- Clear the Cache and
- Remove Cookies
Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.
Type about:preferences<Enter> in the address bar.
- Cookies; Select Privacy. Under History, select Firefox will Use Custom Settings. Press the button on the right side called Show Cookies. Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove All of them.
- Cache; Select Advanced > Network. Across from Cached Web Content, Press Clear Now.
If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe websites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
It's unusual to have the same dysfunction in all browsers. It suggests that perhaps some external software, such as a security suite, may be modifying all of the requests in the same way. For example, stripping information websites expect to receive when you submit the form, or hiding something critical to submitting the form, like a CAPTCHA.
Thank you FredMcD and jscher. I tried all of your steps, Fred, but it made no difference. Since the problem exists with all 3 browsers I'm more apt to suspect something like my Internet Security software (Kaspersky) or some other agent is at work. I think I'll try to contact them and see if they've got any answers.
Thanks for taking the time to try and help. I appreciate that!
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
Thank you Fred but it seems the problem has been resolved. I followed all your advice and it didn't seem to help because I don't think it was just a Firefox problem. So I looked into Kaspersky to see if it was doing something weird. I used it's Privacy cleaner to also clean out all cookies and stuff. When I rebooted the computer after that, the logins worked again. Go figure. Thanks again for trying to help out.

That solution was a total fluke! :) Now I'm going to show my ignorance by saying I have no idea how to post that the problem has been solved. I've been looking at all our comments here but there doesn't appear to be a Solved Problem kind of button or option. Could you please set this poor, tech ignorant soul straight on how to do it? (I fear I am showing my age.... :) )
Go to the post that solved the problem. To its right is a link that says; Solved The Problem.
