How can I get firefox to stop blocking new links?

When I try to open a new link while working on a secure website, a popup says it is blocked and I have to click on allow. I understand the concept of "mixed content" and read the various articles about security. However, I did not seem to have this problem until the last few weeks. Is there any way to always allow links from certain sites? Thanks for any help or comments. I am a senior citizen and not a computer geek, but have used firefox since it was introduced and like it.

Hi Dek38, does the popup give a more explanation of why it is blocked? For example, Firefox will sometimes display a bar between the regular toolbar area and the top of the page with an Allow button for these kinds of blocks:

(1) Popup window -- see: Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting

(2) Redirect -- Do you have Firefox set to block certain redirects? You can check here:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Advanced. On the right side, with the "General" mini-tab active, uncheck the box for "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page" if it is checked. This is an accessibility feature for users of screen reading software and not a general-purpose tool of value to most users.

Thanks. I did not see that screen and yes it was checked to "Warn me" when redirecting. As I said, not to computer literate, but I do not where the on/off switch is. You have made my day much easier. Thanks again.

PS I think I recall changing that box a few days ago and then forgot where I did it. H**l getting old. Have a great day.
