Adobe Acrobat Reader DC doesn't work even though the plug-in is up to date.
I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it twice but it doesn't open in Firefox or from my task bar. I click on the icon or on the downloaded file and nothing happens. I was trying to look at my bank statement - frustrating. Any ideas?

Well, I was too curious to go to bed so I did what you said and you were absolutely right. There must've been components that required a restart to be applied in Acrobat Reader because after the restart it worked fine. Thank you so much for your quick response that solved my problem handily.

What if you find a PDF you downloaded earlier and try opening that -- does Reader DC open it? If not, you might try shutting down and restarting Windows in case there are deferred installation steps that can't be completed while other programs are running.
Sometimes you can right-click a link to a PDF and download it using Save Link As. I don't know whether that will work in this case.
Did you already switch from Firefox's internal viewer to Adobe's viewer? This article has the steps: View and edit PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer.
