So, you use the proxy server of the company you work for?
You would have to install the root certificate for this proxy manually if it isn't installed automatically for some reason. If the root certificate is installed for other browsers like IE or Google Chrome then you can export this certificate in the browser where it works and import this certificate in the Firefox Certificate Manager.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Certificates: View Certificates
When prompted, place a tick on "Trust this CA to identify websites" trust bit to make the imported certificate work as a trusted root certificate to trust websites. Note that trust bits should only be set for a trusted root certificate and never for intermediate certificates.

What happens when you try? Any messages?
en.wikipedia.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates. An additional root certificate may need to be imported. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
See:
If you can't inspect the certificate via Advanced (I Understand the Risks) then try this:
Open the "Add Security Exception" window by pasting this chrome URL in the Firefox location/address bar and check the certificate:
- chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul
In the location field of this window type or paste the URL of the website with the https:// protocol prefix (https://xxx.xxx).
- retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
- click the "View..." button to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Viewer
You can inspect details like the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the Certificate Viewer. Check who is the issuer of the certificate.
no luck
ps bcimc.com is my employer, i can access wikipedia on internet explorer no problem right now though :/
