I can no longer see images in firefox. I have spent 3 hours refreshing firefox, doing other things mentioned in the forum and also created a new profile.

I have created a new profile, refreshed firefox, disabled all add-ons, reinstalled firefox and reinstalled Java. It started tonight and I did not add any add-ons. Internet explorer works fine. computer works fine. It is just firefox. I am asking this because I have spent 3 hours following the instructions listed in other questions with the same issue. creating a new profile didn't work even though others did that and has success.

Any miracle cures?

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains. You can tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Check permissions.default.image on the about:config page to make sure it is default (1).

If you use extensions (3-bar Menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions do not block content. There is security software that can block content, so check that as well.

Still no photos and when firefox starts it can jump to over a gig of memory once every 3 attempts and is slllloooooowwww. Still no images. Looking at :config many bold items some of which I know are my changes (themes, email etc) others not so sure about... Firefox is pretty much unusable in this state.

Is there anyone working firefox support?? I really don't want to change browsers....

I saw the page info suggestion last night and tried it multiple times. Did it again just now and got a beautiful image in the box in the drop down box. Still no images elsewhere. the permissions:config was "user set" or whatever it said similar to that, was at 2 instead of 1. There were also this line with user set = pref.downloads.disable_button.edit_actions;false same for the three below it. = 1 block list, 2 exceptions 3 cookies should they be at default too? I will check for images now. I also have done multiple virus scans - combo fix, superspyware, malwarebyts and spybot in addition to the microsoft sec ess. came up with some of the usual trackers (coupons sites) and pup' s Nothing evil though.

Images are working perfectly - as shown below. I have no idea how that got reset. Thank you for your help. I tried other advice at :config but it was not that line. You have saved my neck as I had a project I need to complete using firefox add-ons 9video download helper). Have a great weekend and again thanks for the help.
