If this is a critical feature for you, while it isn't possible to roll back to Flash 19 using an official installer (unless you saved one yourself), there is an Extended Support Release of Flash 18 available that might work -- I haven't tested.

• Most likely you will need to uninstall Flash 20. This article has a link to the uninstaller: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/.../uninstall-flash-player-windows.html.

• Flash (ESR) version 18.0.0.268 its available a little more than halfway down on this page: https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html (you'll need the version for plugin-based browsers, either EXE or MSI gets you the same plugin)

Due to the fact that I do not seem to have enough rights, I could not completely remove Flash 20. I did run the uninstaller but was unable to remove the files in the directory's mentioned.

Looks like I have to wait for the bug to get fixed.

PS.

Running the check after running the uninstaller, says: "Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled. Please go to step 2."

However the mute icon still does not re-appear on the tabs.

Any more clues? TIA, Jos

Re-intalled flash 18. Luckily I can play Candy Crush again, however the icons did nor re-appear.

Thank you for testing that. Flash 18 had the initial plumbing for muting, but maybe Firefox only could mute in Flash 19+; it's hard to research such things...

Please install it from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html

I haven't researched it fully but see Bug 1205477 - Flash mute doesn't work with Flash 18.x

P.S. The current Flash Player version 20.0.0.235 caused the problem (missing speaker icon to mute sound on tabs with Flash content). The next Flash Player version 20.0.0.238 should fix it.
