
"waiting for encrypted google" will not allow me to open a website
When I try to open lifenews.com, which I have visited countless times, there is a message in the bottom left saying "waiting for encrypted google". I don't even use google chrome? I don't know where to go to get rid of this, I don't want anything blocked unless I specifically ask it to be blocked. I have done searches, one says it's Blur, another says it's security settings to uncheck ssl3 and ssl2. NOthing works. Can someone please tell me how to delete this waiting for encrypted google thing.

You mentioned Blur, which is an add-on. Do you use Blur, or any similar content filtering extension? If you think one of them might be the problem, you could test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features of Firefox.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

I see a lot of domains flashing by when I click around the site, but not that one. Perhaps it only is used on certain pages.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
