Firefox refuses to start on my selected home page.
Regardless of any settings and troubleshooting that I've found in Firefox support, each time I open Firefox it goes back to my last session. Sometimes it opens multiple tabs, even though only one tab was open in the last session. When this happens, the main tab opens correctly and the additional tabs just spin on "loading." My selected home page is currently https://www.google.com, but it doesn't matter how I set it. What's happening?

Your Question Details > More System Details shows an optional settings file named user.js file in your profile folder (personal settings folder).
Firefox uses the settings in that file at startup to override your saved preferences from the previous session. For some strange reason, a command to restore your previous session often ends up in that file.
Unless you created the user.js file yourself, you may want to delete it. There is a section in the following article on how to do that: How to fix preferences that won't save.
Note: By default, Windows hides the .js file extension. To work with files as accurately as possible, I suggest having Windows show ALL file extensions. This Microsoft support article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hide-file-name-extensions.

You may have corrupt sessionstore file(s).
Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the sessionstore file(s). Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Thanks for prompt response! The problem was, in fact, the "resume_session_once" parameter in the user.js file. Deleting the sessionstore file only worked once, it was automatically created again. Deleting the user.js file stopped it from repeating.
