Left my laptop on while I attended a meeting, Adobe Acrobat was open. It's a Windows 8 laptop. When I returned to my desk, Adobe Acrobat took over several icons on my laptop. The Firefox icon is not opening as it goes to Adobe Acrobat and tells me it can't be opened. I tried changing the default program back to Mozilla Firefox but it didn't help.

Have you tried re-booting the computer?

Also download Flash Player Version 18.0.0.232
https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Note: Windows users must download the “Internet Explorer” and “Plugin-based browsers” installers.

Also remove Shockwave.

  • 3 After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installers.
