IWhy can't I open .do files after downloading?

I'm at a financial site, I tried to open my statement. It's a .do file and it downloads fine but when I try to open it I get "file cannot be opened-application not found".

This is because you don't have an application on your computer that is capable of opening this type of file. For more information about the DO file extension, please view this page.
