Gonna try and revert to 33, but any not too technical advice is most welcome. Too pissed off to think straight right now. I wish these 'developers' would stop fucking up shit that works perfectly fine.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

Successfully reverted back to 33.1.1 - Problem solved & videos playing again, but for how long... There is obviously an issue with 34 and video playback. If anyone can find a viable solution, please, let me know.

Do you have the Flashblock add-on installed? It needs to be fixed by the developer of that add-on to work in Firefox 34 plus versions. Or you can use a more 'modern' add-on like this one. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/click-to-play-per-element/

From; https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/tomjerry/

I patched flashblock 1.5.17 to make it work again Try this http://www.datafilehost.com/get.php?file=9eb21f61

This worked for me.

Thank you the-edmeister and FredMcD for your efforts.

FredMcD, my antivirus didn't like the link you gave, so I didn't go there, just a heads-up. But I got myself a new computer, was planning to anyway.

This new computer had it's first Firefox update today, and guess fucking what... Drumroll..... No more video playback except on Youtube.

FAN - FUCKING - TASTIC !!

You guys know Murphy's law? I just recently donated $15 to Mozilla's fundraiser. I'd been using it for years without a hitch, so I thought, why not. I think I'm going to sue for my money back, I mean, what are the chances of the same stinking goddamn fucking issue reappearing on a brand new state of the fucking art computer???!!? HUH?! (and no, it's not Adblock, I quadruple checked.)

If it happened to me twice on different computers, it has to be a known issue, and the only conclusion is that Mozilla can't be bothered to look for a solution or warn it's users.

I'm not a geek and I'm not a computer wiz, and spending 2 fucking stinking goddamn hours trying to find out what is wrong and what might 'maybe' work but then doesn't makes me homicidal.

Mozilla does shite that messes up my shite? Mozilla fix it or lose a user. Simple.

So I'm gonna hop over to Chrome and see what gives. I'm pretty sure that any support over there will have all the same beautifully advertised non-existent features Mozilla exhibits, and then there's the NSA's covert data-mining agreement with Google, but maybe the video's will work.

Wouldn't that be great !!???

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK !

Ouch, now that hurts.  :-)

On the new computer; Type about:support in the address bar and press Enter. Under the main banner, press the button; Copy Text To Clipboard.. Then in the reply box at the bottom of this page, do a right click in the box and select Paste. This will show us your system details. No Personal Information Is Collected.

Hi Fred, didn't expect a reply after my frustrated cranial belch, but here you go... :
