Stylish add-on not working

I installed Stylish a few months ago, and it worked perfectly for a while - and then one day it just stopped. Nothing works. I checked to see if Firefox had updated - nope. I disabled and re-enabled the add-on - nope. I uninstalled and reinstalled it - nope. I installed a test script, thinking that maybe the problems were with individual scripts - nope. I went through the steps as directed here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982460) but that didn't work either.

While doing the last one I actually managed to fix another add-on that hadn't worked properly on this computer's Firefox - I have another computer that it worked perfectly on, and I think this computer's files for it were corrupted. I cleared out all that add-on's files on this computer and transferred the other computer's files for the add-on over, and now it works perfectly. However, when I tried this for Stylish (which also works perfectly on the other computer) it didn't work.

tl;dr: there's something wrong with this computer's Firefox and/or its files for the Stylish add-on, and I'd like to get whatever it is fixed.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

There are some bad reviews for this. Check this page for support link.

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.

If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.

Stylish seems to be storing information on my computer, even when I remove the add-on. I can't find the files, though, and directing me to the folder where everything's stored doesn't really help...as I said in the original question, I've already deleted the extension files. The link I included has the exact same answer as what you just posted.

I followed the instructions from the support pages - no dice.

Two things to try.

Type about:config<Enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Type Stylish Tell us if there are any listing and what they are

Open you file browser. Go to the main directory C:\ Enter Stylish in the search box and tell us what is displayed. This may take a few minutes.

1 - I found five things, screenshot attached.

2 - The only thing that popped up was my bookmarks file (Stylish is bookmarked there).

Wait for one of the big boys, this is above my knowledge.

All right. I should probably add that I removed stylish from my add-ons, and I haven't reset firefox yet (I'd really rather not resort to that, because I've had to do it before and it's a nightmare to get everything back to normal).

EDIT I searched "stylish" in the firefox folder (the one that you get to from about:support) and found another .sqlite file (which I deleted). There were other files as well, but after I deleted the .sqlite file and re-searched, nothing showed up.

The later four entries in the about:config search from before are still present.

I reset it. It took me three hours even with those addons to get everything back to normal...but Stylish now works. Thanks.
