For the past week, when I open a new window in my smartermail the window shrinks, when I try to expand, it goes back to tiny window. IE works fine.
My company's IT director says he's received emails from other people in our company with the same problem recently.
He says he believes it's a Firefox issue since the last update.
When I use IE, my smartermail works fine.

Thank you for testing that, and sorry to hear it didn't work.
Could you trying blocking scripts from resizing windows? Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste dom and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the dom.disable_window_move_resize preference to switch it from false to true.
If you test opening a different email, does it still resize itself?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences
Then Advanced > General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?. Then restart.
I to am having the exact problem. The above solution didnt work for me..
in smartermail, when I creat a "new message" the new windows that opens up auto shrinks. I try and make it full screen and it just pops back down.

As a temporary workaround, try maximizing the window (on Windows, you can double-click the title bar).
The vendor has a patch for this, but it may take some time to roll out.
when I maximize the window it auto pops right back out and re shrinks. This is weird... It will allow me to resize the width but the window height is shrinking. I can drag it our but it just goes back up. Also I tried making it full screen but again it just pops back out and shrinks back up.
