I cleared my history, cookies, forms/search history on my mozilla for my MacBook Pro yesterday because it had been going much slower than usual. It froze during that process and now it will not open. I have deleted and reinstalled it with no avail, every time I open the application it freezes and gives me the swirling circle saying it is frozen. I have tried to reset to default setting for application twice and tried to open it in safemode and it freezes everytime so I cannot get anything done. Please help me.

If you deleted the old profile you will have lost your bookmarks. I haven't used a Mac for decades, not sure if the Time Machine may help if that is what you did..

If you used the the Firefox reset it should have retained your bookmarks.

If you just created and used a new profile then the old profile will have the old bookmarks in it. In fact the file you really should try to copy to the new profile is the file places.sqlite that is the database containing the Bookmarks and History.

Another alternative quick method would be to backup the bookmarks from the old profile, then restore those bookmarks into the new profile. (Take care and note that overwrites any existing bookmarks) Always backup any existing bookmarks in a profile before trying any restore.

The easiest method of finding a profile is from a running Firefox and using the button on the troubleshooting page. (Navigate to it using about:support <- key that into the addressbar)

Will Firefox open in safemode ?

Is the problem only with trying to connect to the internet ?

Does an alternative browser such as Safari work ?

Okay, so I just made a new profile and it works, how do I "see" my hidden library folder on my Apple Finder page so I can go copy my bookmarks from my old profile to my new profile?
