I have a few sessions per month which put me way over my 5gig Verizon data limit. I need to find out what website(s) are responsible for this in order to stop paying excessive charges.

Try using Flashblock or Plugins Click-to-play and using Adblock Plus to block ads, including flash ads. You could also set this in about:config:

  • browser.cache.check_doc_frequency - set to 2 (never)

Those things can reduce bandwidth. If your cap is that low, maybe cut down on viewing videos. Those can really increase the data flow.

Many programs that you have on your computer will "Call Home" for many reasons, including checking for updates. While it may not be much, you can try accessing their settings and have them check once a week or longer.

There are also live connections for things like RSS feeds.
