Firefox locks up when right-clicking and using drop-down menus
I have the latest version of Firefox installed (13.0), though I had the same problem with earlier versions of Firefox also. Not all the time, but fairly frequently, when I right-click (i.e., opening a new link), or use a drop-down menu (like marking an e-mail as unread in Gmail), Firefox completely locks up and becomes unresponsive. I need to control alt delete to close it and then restart Firefox.
I am also running Windows 7, 64-bit version. Let me know if any additional details are needed.
Thanks

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I've been using FF in safe mode and so far have had no lockups - would the next step be disabling the add-ons one-by-one to find the culprit? Or is there a more efficient way?
Thanks
First try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If that didn't solved it then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
