"Our volunteers are Mozilla users just like you, who take the time out of their day to help." I know this but when they highjack part of what I considered to be something I liked and give no way back to what I like, how does that make it 'My Firefox' as is so often said at this site. It looks more and more like IE and I hate IE. Anyone who works on something which is said to be able to be customized by to user to his or her satisfaction should realize we do not need 'recommendations by Pocket', or little buttons to press, of stuff like that. I was forced to create a blank page with a search area where I have to type in the address I want to show up each time. How is that helping me? I understand there are hours and hours put into this browser but frankly, some of the things which have been applied are useless. Others are fantastic! Just do not become another browser which needs to tell me what I want. That is what 'Bookmarks' are for. Oops, I didn't check my bookmarks. Did someone screw with that function as well?

What new tab page are you talking about? Is that an older version of the builtin new tab page (about:newtab) or another page that you had set as the new tab page?

To make sure we'll all taking about the same thing(s):

The built-in home page design changed around the time of Firefox 57 to contain content from the new tab page. You can set your own home page on the Options page, but there's no setting there to change the new tab page. However, you can replace the new tab page using an add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ad.../new-tab-override/.

Is that clearer or even more confusing?

This is the first time I have been answered so fast and with so many options. I picked one, the web extension, and everything is great. I thank you for replying and for giving me the New Tab I like. I really do not like the new version you guys dreamed up - all those buttons and having someone tell me what I want. Then to have recommendations really ticked me off. I do not need someone telling me what I 'just need' to read. That is like the advertisement people who bombard us with the all too frequent ads. Thank Heavens for AdBlock etc. I am going to keep a record of these options in case this happens again. Again, thank you.
