Many websites do not work properly on firefox. For example, go to

http://www.marriott.com/

On the 'find a hotel' dialog box, enter location, check in/out dates, hit the 'Find' button - nothing happens and no error messages. The same sequence of action result in screen reloaded with data on internet explorer and chrome. I have already updated to the latest version of firefox (29.0).

Another site that do not work is google map.

I think this is a critical issue and I hope someone can look into it asap.

Hello wzfoto,

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. I'm sorry that you're having trouble finding a hotel, but I wasn't able to duplicate the issue. The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions and some Preferences.

  • Open websites will not be saved in Firefox versions lower than 25.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • The image "new fx menu" does not exist. > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

If you are not ready to reset, you can test whether deactivating your extensions resolves the issue. To do that, restart Firefox in its Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run

After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).

If the pages work correctly, it may be that one of your extensions isn't fully compatible with Firefox 29.

When content is partially blocked, users often discover this to be caused by HTTPS-Everywhere (some sites cannot handle the push for a secure connection) or an extension like DoNotTrackMe (may block related server content as part of its privacy protection).

If you have been presented with a lot of pages saying that popular sites have invalid security certificates, though, that's a red flag that either your system clock is incorrect, or Firefox is not correctly configured to work with your security software, or you have some malware intercepting your web traffic.

Thanks for the quick response. I end up doing a factory default reset and the problem is now gone. I am guessing there is an extension that was acting up (and I only had 3-4 of them).
