Hello Support,

Why do I have to use Reset-with-Add-ons Disabled option AFTER UPDATES INSTALLED to browse internet? Without this I do not seem to be able to access any webpage after I upgrade Firefox to latest version.

Thanks for your support.

Best regards, HM

Hello,

I take it you mean "Restart with Add-ons Disabled", also known as Safe Mode. Either one of your add-ons or hardware acceleration is to blame. You can either try to find out which one add-on is causing the problem, or you can Reset Firefox and get rid of them all.

Sometimes extensions are not automatically updating. To force a manual check for update, you can use the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then click the "gear" button above the list and use Check for Updates.

It's also a good time to check for any unfamiliar extensions that might have been snuck in when you install free software. I think the link from Gingerbread Man already talked about that.
