Thunderbird is misaligning my emails when I print them out

I am worried that my recipients will receive my misaligned emails and that it will be difficult for them to read them. For now I have resorted to typing out my e-mails in word and then attaching that document to my the email I want to send. This is time consuming for both me and the recipient. Surely there is a better way?

I type my messages directly into Thunderbird but it messes up my alignment when I print it out or when a recipient prints out a mail from me. It is only out of frustration that I have been typing out my message using Word and then attaching the Word document as a file. That way my message is delivered with the correct alignment although it is a huge waste of time both on my part and the recipient. Why can't the alignment of the text I manually type into Thunderbird not just stay as I see it on the screen?

I have set my composition to plain text but I guess now I can't use any of the rich text features - Not really a solution :(

I do not want to publish a picture of my or my family's personal correspondence, but an example of the kind of misalignment I am talking about is when a paragraph just starts in the middle or at end of the page instead of keeping flush left, the way we normally write or type.

Thunderbird has to be generous, a very basic print function. I can assure you that if you want someone to print information as you see it then your only option is to send Adobe PDF files. Nothing else guarantees WYSISTG (What you see is what they get) and that includes Word whose formatting, page width and height are all dependent on the recipients printer.

Thunderbird prints HTML, in a very basic manner, and certainly in not intended for the creation of typeset documents. That is what word processing programs are designed and marketed for. But I am unable to get it to print a paragraph start in the middle of the page. (I assume your referring to something like centered text on the line.)

I have an email address on my profile here. Send me one of these emails. formatted like you do and perhaps I can see why your having an issue, or at least duplicate the problem

I have deleted the offending e-mails so I'm afraid I can't send them to you. I have sidestepped the problem by doing all my correspondence in plain text but as the first respondent noted this by no means a solution.
