Do you want to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) or is opening the Bookmarks sidebar sufficient?

If you close Firefox with the Bookmarks sidebar open then the sidebar should be open the next time you start Firefox.

  • You can toggle the Bookmarks sidebar on/off via "View > Sidebar > Bookmarks" or "Ctrl+B" (Command+B on Mac)

You can open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) by appending the -chrome switch and one of these chrome URLs to the target field.

  • firefox.exe -chrome chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
  • firefox.exe -chrome chrome://browser/content/bookmarks/bookmarksPanel.xul

You can also set the home (startup) page to one of those chrome URL to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library).

Sorry Diego Victor, I still want google.com to be my homepage.

Thank you cor-el "Ctrl + B" worked great to get the bookmark sidebar to show. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Just for my education, you also said choose "View > Sidebar > Bookmarks". I do not have anything like that in my version 28.

I am now using Firefox 28 and as far as I can tell there are only 2 ways to display the bookmarks. Top Left corner choose Firefox and then select Boookmarks or go up next to the google search bar, click the down arrow next to the star and then choose "Show all bookmarks". Either way, a new window opens with all of my bookmarks. (a real nuisance).

Am I missing somewhere the "View > Sidebar > Bookmarks"?
