I need to get back my grouped tabs from a crashed computer.

more options

I have restored everything in firefox on my new computer except my grouped tabs. I have read that a sessionrestore.js file can be replaced and that will contain my grouped tabs, but I don't know if it will replace everything else at the same time. I'm not even positive that is the file I should move over, or what the ramifications would be of doing that. I had an old xp computer that crashed, and I'm now on a windows 7 laptop. I have access (as an external hard drive) to my old files, which is how I have been able to replace my bookmarks, passwords, etc. However, I can't get back my grouped tabs, and I have hundreds of hours of research in those tabs! Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!!! Thanks, B :)

Chosen solution

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data in the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder.

Restoring a sessionstore.js will replace all tab groups and App (pinned) tabs and currently open tabs, so you will lose tabs that are currently open.
You will have to bookmark tabs that are currently open (right-click the tab bar: Bookmarks All Tabs).
