hello vchd, are you referring to the user-agent of your browser? if so, the Mozilla/5.0 string gets sent by all browsers (also not mozilla-ones) for historical/compatibility reasons: http://webaim.org/blog/user-agent-string-history/

And Mozilla became Firefox, and called itself Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041108 Firefox/1.0, and Firefox was very good.

Hmm another person who thought the browser we know as Firefox currently since 0.8 did not really start until it got to version 1.0 when it was out for just over two years already starting as Phoenix 0.1 (later renamed as Firebird at 0.6).
