You can remove the icon but keep Firebug installed, or you can uninstall Firebug.

To just remove the icon, use the Customize mode and drag it into the dialog with the other unused icons. See this article for more information: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

To remove the extension completely, open the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then find Firebug and click Remove.
