OS: Windows 7 In Add/Remove program, there are seven instances: Firefox 22.0, 23.0, 23.0.1, 24.0, 25.0, 25.0.1, and 26.0. It seems that the old instances were not removed after automatic upgrade. That means I will get more instances in my Add/Remove program after new versions of Firefox release. So could you please tell me how to solve it? Thank you!

Do a backup of your atual setting, data, bookmarks, etc

Did you try to unistall the old versions? Did you try delete manually the old datas?

It is likely that you only see orphaned Firefox entries in add and remove programs.
This can happen if the Firefox updater didn't remove the entry of the previous version, but merely added an entry for the new version.

If you uninstall such versions that are actually no longer present then you will likely uninstall the current Firefox version and you will have to reinstall Firefox.

If you are comfortable with the registry editor then you can remove Firefox entries that no longer apply in this registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox (????)

Actually they are under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.

But I think Mozilla should solve this problem when we automatically upgrade Firefox to new version. So I posted it here. Anyway, thank you for your help!

It does normally remove old version details. I would recommend that, after having saved all your data and settings, you completely uninstall Firefox using something like RevoUninstaller in advanced mode, and then reinstall the latest version and see if the problem still occurs.
