I've just installed AVG Security, now FireFox is really slow, what do I do?

I'm not sure if it's Internet problems or co-incidence that I've just installed AVG. But now my FireFox & general connection is so slow - FireFox wouldn't even start to begin with.

Chosen solution

First, please update to Firefox 25, Update Firefox to the latest release, then my suggestion is to uninstall AVG and use Microsoft security Essentials as your anti-virus.
