Bookmark Star up in control panel won't work ..... Hit it with cursor nothing. Don't want to reset firefox. Can get bookmarks through Firefox Orange drop down
When I go up to the top bar where my shortcuts are (printer, zoom, home, etc.) I can't get the bookmarks sidebar menu to come up when I hit the star in the black box.
I don't want to reset the entire Firefox .... I'll lose bookmarks and other things.
Any suggestions? As to why this just started happening in the last 2 hours?
Kind regards,
JERICROTH

You can open bookmarks sidebar by pressing "Ctrl" + "B"
When you reset Firefox you are NOT loosing bookmarks, history, cookies but you lossing addons and saved options.

I appreciate your help Mixalis 88. I know I can open the bookmarks the way you suggested. I'm just accustomed to using the star which is handy.
I'm cursed with a curious mind. I always want to know "why".
Again, thanks for your help.

Which star are you referring to?
Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.
Firefox has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop-marker that open the Bookmark menu and may appear on the Navigation Toolbar or on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the menu bar is hidden.
The other star button without the drop-marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar (View > Sidebar > Bookmarks).
- Firefox menu button > Options > Toolbar Layout
- View > Toolbars > Customize

I am also having the same issue. I want to bookmark a page like I have always then simply by clicking on the Star in my address bar. This was very convenient because it allowed me to choose which folder I want to save it in. Now when I click on, the Star quickly flashes yellow then back to white...and then nothing happens. It does not bookmark the page.
The weird thing is that I can press Ctrl+D and the menu that should appear does appear, but all the folder options are blank.
I also updated Firefox and tried with all add-ons turned off. Please help me fix it without doing a clean install of Firefox.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
