My computer broke down the other week and the technician had to uninstall Firefox.

On my new computer, I'd like to import the bookmarks from my Android phone, which was sync'ed to a Firefox account.

I've followed the instructions from this page, which are far from clear: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-a-device-to-firefox-sync?esab=a&s=import+bookmarks+mobile&r=6&as=s

Now in the last part of the page, called 'Add another computer', which I suppose applies to my case, they tell me to find a 'recovery key' on my Android phone, explaining the steps erroneously.

What should have taken a couple of minutes now turns into several hours so I decided to post my question here:

- How do I get the recovery key from my Android phone? - Is there a simpler way to sync my new computer with my smartphone?

hello Snowflake123, please try to pair the two devices like this:

  1. on your android phone go into the system's settings app and into accounts & synchronisation (might be worded slightly different on different android devices), go to firefox sync & tap on pair a device.
  2. on your desktop go to firefox > options > sync > set up firefox sync > i have an account which will show you a 3x4 character code that you'll have to enter into your android device in order to complete the process.
