Restoting Tabs and Bookmarks Toolbar Original Locations
Yesterday, Firefox automatically updated to version 23.0, as usually happens to all updates. However, this time it was a source of what must be an unusual issue.
Since Firefox started placing tabs at the top, I put the bookmarks down on the tabs place, When I clicked on View menu –> Toolbars –> Bookmarks Toolbar, it shows or hides the tabs instead, but that did not bother me, it was OK.
When it updated from version 22 to 23 it was the chaos. The Bookmarks Toolbar disappeared. I tried to move it with the customization window open. I could place aside of other rows, but never again on a single row by itself as it should be. The only way I found to put it on a single row was by replacing the entire installation with a backup I had from version 22. It is OK now, but I can’t update it any more because it happens the same with the Bookmarks Toolbar.
I need someone to please help me to fix it, so I can update it as I have always done, keeping the bookmarks in an independent raw without resetting. I could move the bookmarks up, left it there and everything was OK until version 23 when they disappeared, but now I can’t move them down. I need to remove the tabs from the Bookmarks Toolbar and put them somewhere else, as on its right location. I can try anything even errors, because I can always go back to the working version 22 backup. Thank you for any help.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thank you the-edmeister for the quick reply, but you have not read my request on the last paragraph: if I posted this question for help it was only to avoid your recommendation because I have quite happy with my configuration for years.
Maybe somebody will help me to do what Resetting does only on what regards the tabs and Bookmarks Toolbar.

Did you read the support article that I hyperlinked?
Bookmarks don't get "reset".
Yes, I knew that, but re-read it before posting because things change from time to time. It makes a new profile and tries to restore Bookmarks, Browsing history, Passwords, Cookies and Web form auto-fill information, From these I would care about bookmarks and passwords, but I have them backed up. The problem is that with a new profile all the rest and configuration goes ashtray.
So why not simply reset the tabs and bookmarks toolbar position? FF is well thought and simply coded and those settings will have to be in some file. One only has to know in which and what to change. My problem is that I ignore both completely. Can't you just tell me this, please?
There is no problem if I make any mistake because – as I wrote – I can always replace the whole ver. 22 installation with the saved backup and land where I am right now in a couple of minutes; Just the time to replace the files.
Thank you for trying to help.
Edited for clarity reason.

You can try to click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup.
