When I type in an address, the drop-down menu no longer contains the same list of addresses as always. Instead, there is a list of locations (minus the actual www.com addresses beneath each one) in bold font and some of the locations are repeated on the drop-down menu but take me to a different site. Its a guessing game where Im going when I click on one. Beside each listing, there is a magnifying glass icon which was not there before. I have been searching/reading for almost 3 hours trying to trouble shoot the issue and Ive even attempted to restore to default with no luck. This is truly annoying me.. Any suggestions?

It may happen because your some toolbars and malwares too..

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

I am not sure what the problem was/is but I tried everything that I read to possibly fix the issue and nothing has worked completely. I dont have my full drop-down list like I used to, instead there is a mix of my addresses and the "new" ones that seemed to take over. I restarted my laptop and that is when I seen that some of my addresses came back. Im beyond frustrated with it right now, but Im hopeful that my usual settings come back by itself. If not, I will just have my husband look at it. My PC knowledge is sufficient but his is much better. Thank you so much for your suggestion/help as following your link is what brought back some normalcy to my navigation bar. Thanks again!

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly, possibly Swag Bucks 10.16.4.519

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Firefox uses the about: protocol to access built-in about: pages that you can open via the location bar just like you open web pages.
